Turning Smiles into Memories—Our RV Fellowship Journey Introduction
Introduction
Founded in 2004 as 5th Meridian Sams, our chapter was born from a shared passion for the RV
lifestyle, fun, and fellowship. Initially approved by Good Sam International in 2005, we have
recently undergone significant transitions, including our disassociation from the International
Good Sam and the establishment of the new Provincial Alberta RVers Association. In light of
these changes, we adopted a new identity—5th Meridian Nomads—and have discontinued the
use of any crests, flags, signs, or materials bearing the Good Sam logo.
Our Purpose
The heart of 5th Meridian Nomads lies in coming together for campouts and gatherings, with our
motto: “turning smiles into memories.” From October to April, we host monthly informal
gatherings featuring coffee, treats, and a brief meeting. The festive season brings us together
for a Christmas dinner at a local restaurant, with details agreed upon by our chapter members.
Activities and Community Engagement
As an active club, we organize a variety of events throughout the year. Typical campouts
include games, potluck dinners, tours of local attractions, shopping excursions, and, when the
weather cooperates, evenings around the campfire sharing stories well into the night. We take
pride in supporting the community, encouraging members to visit local Farmers Markets and
make food donations to the food bank.
Camping Season & Membership
Our camping season spans May to September, with campouts coordinated by our Wagon
Master and other members. Each season, a comprehensive list of campouts is provided,
allowing members the flexibility to choose their preferred outings based on their schedules.
A New Season Ahead
As we embark on another exciting season, our commitment to fellowship, fun, and meaningful
activities remains unwavering. We look forward to welcoming members old and new as we
continue to create lasting memories together.
